Uzbekistan and Spain open a new chapter of cooperation in the publishing sector

As part of the program of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Spain, which included the Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and People’s Writer Khayriddin Sultanov, Chairman of the Board of the World Society WOSCU Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the State Museum of the History of the Timurids Khurshid Fayziev, and WOSCU Coordinator Ekaterina Soboleva, a visit was made to the publishing house Mueller & Schindler, according to the Dunyo News Agency.
During the visit, a substantive meeting was held with the President of the publishing house, Charlotte Kramer, Vice President Alexander Wilhelm, and company specialists. Notably, the meeting coincided with World Book Day, which created a special atmosphere of professional and cultural unity.
It was particularly noted that since 2017, Mueller & Schindler, in close cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan (WOSCU), has implemented a number of outstanding facsimile projects that have received international recognition.
Charlotte Kramer, President of the publishing house, stated:
“Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the large-scale, systematic, and truly historic work being carried out in this field. Such attention to culture at the highest level of state leadership is an exceptional phenomenon and serves as an example for the international community. Over more than a decade of cooperation, we have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the depth of the ongoing transformations and the genuine personal engagement of the country’s leadership in the development of the cultural and humanitarian sphere.”
Khayriddin Sultanov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and People’s Writer, expressed sincere appreciation to the partners for their consistent and highly professional work, highlighting their significant contribution to promoting Uzbek culture internationally and describing the publishing house representatives as reliable friends of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed new facsimile editions, discussed prospects for future joint projects, and exchanged expert views on promoting Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage on the international stage.
Special attention was given to the tourism publishing project “Uzbekistan: The Golden Road to Samarkand,” aimed at enhancing the country’s global image through a comprehensive presentation of its regions, unique architectural heritage, historic cities, natural diversity, and contemporary cultural environment. The project seeks to create a holistic and compelling image of Uzbekistan for international audiences.
As part of discussions on future cooperation, Khayriddin Sultanov proposed the preparation and publication in Spanish of the “Code of Amir Temur,” one of the key historical sources reflecting the state structure, governance principles, and strategic thinking of the Timurid era.
It was noted that the implementation and dissemination of this project would significantly expand access for Spanish-speaking audiences to the unique heritage of the Timurid period, deepen academic interest in the region’s history, and contribute to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and the Spanish-speaking world.
The publishing house Mueller & Schindler supported this initiative, emphasizing its high scientific and cultural significance. According to its representatives, publishing the “Code of Temur” in Spanish would be an important contribution to international dialogue and would introduce European readers to the foundations of statehood and legal thought of the Timurid era.
The visit marked an important step in the development of international publishing and cultural cooperation and confirmed the growing interest of global audiences in Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
