Dear compatriots,
I sincerely congratulate you and all our people on the holiday of kindness, mercy, and generosity — the sacred Ramadan Hayit (Eid al-Fitr).
At these wonderful moments, we thank the Almighty for peace and tranquility in our land.
Following the tradition established in recent years, this year as well, together with you and all our people, we have carried out many good deeds to достойно observe the month of Ramadan.
It should be noted that, in accordance with a special resolution to support vulnerable segments of the population, funds amounting to 1 trillion soums — for the first time in 35 years in such a large volume — were allocated to support low-income families and provide medical assistance to patients. In particular, 450 billion soums were directed to financial aid for more than 600,000 needy families. In addition, medical assistance is being provided to 6,000 patients included in the social register, including complex surgical operations.
During the month of Ramadan, 100,000 gifts were distributed to the population. Within the framework of the “Ramazon tuhfasi” (“Ramadan Gift”) project, more than 30,000 iftar events were organized for needy families, residents of “Muruvvat” and “Saxovat” homes, as well as compatriots abroad.
This noble work fully reflects the humanistic essence of our sacred religion. It is gratifying that it represents a practical result of our reforms aimed at ensuring human interests and elevating dignity and honor.
Dear friends,
Today, New Uzbekistan is entering an even more important stage of its development. Thanks to large-scale renewal processes in all spheres and sectors, the pace of growth and progress is increasing. Significant efforts are also being made to develop the spiritual and educational sphere, as well as to deeply study and widely promote the rich heritage of Islamic civilization.
In particular, last year in Bukhara, the Bahauddin Naqshband Research Center — a prominent thinker and a bright representative of Sufism — was opened.
A wonderful gift to our people has been the opening during these sacred days of the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan in the capital, as well as the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in the Samarkand region.
As a continuation of this noble work, large-scale reconstruction of the complex of the outstanding theologian Imam Maturidi is underway in Samarkand. In the coming days, the International Center for Tolerance and Interfaith Dialogue will begin operating in Tashkent. I am confident that this will further strengthen Uzbekistan’s reputation as a country of interethnic and interreligious cooperation, peace, and friendship.
Dear compatriots,
In the current complex international situation, preserving an atmosphere of peace, stability, and well-being in families and communities, as well as protecting youth from alien and destructive ideas, remains a highly relevant task.
In this, we rely on our respected veterans with vast life experience, representatives of the intelligentsia and ulema, mahalla activists, and proactive youth.
On the days of this great holiday, we прежде всего wish for the swift end of all wars and conflicts in different parts of the world, and a peaceful and calm life for all peoples.
We also take this opportunity to extend our greetings and sincere congratulations to the entire Muslim ummah in both near and far abroad.
We wholeheartedly congratulate our compatriots studying or working abroad and wish them further success.
Dear friends,
In these blessed days, I once again congratulate you on Eid al-Fitr and wish you all good health, happiness, peace, tranquility, and well-being for your families.
May the Almighty always protect our country and our people!
Happy Ramadan Hayit, my dear ones!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
