Uzbekistan to Host the First International Islamic Forum

The First International Islamic Forum, entitled "Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment," will take place in Tashkent and Samarkand from 7 to 11 July, the Dunyo News Agency reports.
The event is jointly organised by the Centre of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
The forum will serve as an international platform for dialogue among representatives of the Islamic world. It will bring together leading scholars, religious leaders, heads of international organisations, and representatives of universities, museums, libraries and humanitarian institutions from across the globe.
Discussions will focus on the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of science, education, culture, philosophy, art and spiritual heritage, as well as on strengthening inter-civilizational cooperation and promoting mutual understanding.
The programme features plenary sessions, international academic conferences, meetings with prominent scholars and religious figures, visits to the Centre of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, exhibitions of Islamic art, calligraphy and manuscript heritage, as well as press briefings for international media.
The forum forms part of Uzbekistan's broader efforts to preserve and promote the cultural and scientific heritage of Islamic civilization. In March 2026, the Centre of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan was inaugurated in Tashkent, becoming one of the largest humanitarian and educational projects in the Islamic world.
