President of Uzbekistan to Pay a State Visit to Georgia

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Georgia on 2–3 July at the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Dunyo News Agency reports.
According to the Presidential Press Service, the programme of the visit to Tbilisi includes official talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The agenda will focus on further strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
The parties are expected to hold detailed discussions on enhancing political dialogue, expanding inter-parliamentary and interregional ties, deepening trade and economic cooperation, and promoting cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Particular attention will be given to advancing joint projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, tourism, energy and the IT sector.
Among the priorities will also be cooperation in transport and logistics, aimed at creating additional opportunities to expand the export geography of Uzbek products.
The two leaders will also exchange views on current international and regional issues.
Following the summit, the parties are expected to sign a substantial package of bilateral agreements covering a wide range of areas of cooperation.
