The Spanish portal «El Diario» reported on the famous desserts of Uzbekistan

The popular Spanish news portal «El Diario» published an article about the rich culinary tradition of Uzbekistan, where desserts hold a special place on family tables and at festive events, reports the correspondent of the Dunyo news agency.
“Sweets, combining honey, nuts, and fried dough, have become part of the national culture of hospitality in this country located along the ancient Silk Road,” the portal notes.
Among the most well-known Uzbek desserts are chak-chak, halva, and nishalda. The portal explains that chak-chak is made from fried dough with honey, halva consists of roasted flour, butter, and nuts, while nishalda is a light dessert made from whipped egg whites with sugar and plant extracts.
In addition, parvarda - candies made from boiled sugar flavored with lemon or spices and navat - caramelized sugar crystals that dissolve in tea, turning tea drinking into a special ritual, are also popular.
«El Diario» emphasizes that in Uzbekistan, sweets are not just a treat but a symbol of friendliness and hospitality, and that discovering the country’s culture often begins with a plate of desserts served alongside a teapot.
