Spain is opening new opportunities for cooperation with Uzbekistan and the countries of Central Asia

The conference “Central Asia in the Process of Expansion” was organized at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce jointly with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Spain, reports the Dunyo News Agency.
Within the framework of the event, Uzbekistan’s investment and economic potential was presented, and prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Spanish business community were outlined.
During the presentation, key areas of socio-economic reforms implemented in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev were highlighted. It was noted that the strategic objective of the state is to build an open economy and create the most favorable conditions for foreign investors.
Particular attention was paid to the large-scale transformation of the investment climate. The adoption of a number of systemic legislative initiatives was emphasized, including laws on investments, on public-private partnerships, and on special economic zones, as well as the establishment of the Council of Foreign Investors under the President and the institution of the Business Ombudsman.
The strategic advantages of Uzbekistan as a logistics and transport hub of Central Asia were underlined, along with its location along international transport corridors, including the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe.
Special attention was given to the GSP+ regime, which provides preferential duty-free access to the European Union market for more than 6,000 product categories, opening additional opportunities for Spanish companies to establish production in Uzbekistan with subsequent export to the EU.
Following the event, the leading Spanish business portal “Empresa Exterior” published an article titled: “Strategic Alliance in Central Asia: Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Their Positions as Key Logistics and Investment Hubs of Central Asia", offering Spanish Companies Broad Opportunities to Enter Regional Markets.
