The President of Uzbekistan outlined the priorities of the Peace Council on the Gaza Strip

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today took part in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council in Washington, reports the Dunyo News Agency.
According to the press service of the Head of State, the event, held under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump, was also attended by heads of delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Indonesia, Argentina, Paraguay, Romania, Egypt, Qatar, Pakistan, Hungary, Albania, Armenia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Morocco, and other countries.
The participants discussed issues related to the reconstruction and provision of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, as well as ensuring peace and stability in the region.
In his speech, the Head of State expressed gratitude to U.S. President and Chairman of the Peace Council Donald Trump for convening the first summit.
It was noted that Uzbekistan supported the peace initiative to establish the Peace Council, firmly declaring its intention to take practical part in its successful implementation.
“I am convinced that the work of the Council will create favorable conditions for the economic and social recovery of the Gaza Strip,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated.
At the same time, it was emphasized that any mechanism of external governance in Gaza must necessarily rely on the internal support of the population of the Strip.
Confidence was expressed that coordinated efforts by all parties would ensure the sustainability of the post-conflict process and create conditions for the swift reconstruction of Gaza.
The Head of State stated Uzbekistan’s readiness to contribute to the construction of residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, and hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
“Our meeting is a vivid manifestation of international solidarity, peacebuilding, and a shared aspiration to improve the situation in the Middle East. We must use this historic opportunity to build a New Gaza — with a prosperous economy and decent living conditions for its population,” the President noted.
Other heads of state, government leaders, and foreign ministers also delivered speeches at the event.
Following the meeting, the Declaration in Support of the Activities of the Peace Council was signed.
