Uzbekistan produced 7,000 tons of uranium in 2025

Uzbekistan has significantly exceeded its previously announced plans for uranium production and intends to continue actively expanding the sector in the coming years, according to the Dunyo News Agency.
It is noted that in 2025 Uzbekistan increased its uranium output to 7,000 metric tons, which is substantially higher than the authorities’ initial projections. At the same time, the country plans to begin developing four new uranium deposits within the year.
According to the published report, which for the first time disclosed official data on uranium production in the country, Uzbekistan’s total uranium reserves are estimated at 139,000 tons. These figures differ markedly from the previously stated plans of the Atomic Energy Agency, which had expected production to exceed 4,200 tons in 2025.
As part of its national development strategy, Uzbekistan aims to increase annual uranium production to 7,200 tons by 2030. Ural Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan, stated that one of the projects, valued at 150 million US dollars, could begin production as early as July this year.
