Tashkent International Airport Implements “E-Gate” Passport Control System

An automated “E-Gate” passport control system has been launched in the arrival hall of Tashkent International Airport, reports IA “Dunyo.”
The new area is equipped with eight electronic lanes designed for Uzbek citizens. Passengers simply need to place their biometric passport on the reader and undergo facial recognition. Once identity is confirmed, the turnstile opens automatically. The entire process takes about 15–20 seconds.
The E-Gate system was first introduced at Tashkent Airport in 2023, in the international departure hall. With the addition of the new section, the total number of automated lanes at the capital’s airport has reached 20.
It is noted that the introduction of E-Gate technology significantly reduces passport control time, increases the throughput of checkpoints, and provides additional comfort for passengers.
