Imma Tor Faus: In March 2026, Andorra will host the 7th World “Mountain Partnership” Meeting — an international forum dedicated to mountains and sustainable development

Andorra’s Foreign Minister Imma Tor Faus, during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, gave an exclusive interview to IA “Dunyo”:
– I am very pleased to be in Samarkand today for the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference. I sincerely congratulate Uzbekistan on the excellent organization of this event. The infrastructure is impeccable, everything is thought through in detail, and the hospitality and warm welcome are simply outstanding.
The conference is progressing very productively, and we are all delighted that Samarkand — a symbol of history and intercultural dialogue — is hosting this session.
Within the framework of the “Roads of Peace” Program, we support the creation and dissemination of cultural, artistic, and educational initiatives not only in Andorra but also in other countries. Andorra is particularly active in the field of education: several Andorran schools are part of the UNESCO Associated Schools network, where students learn and promote the universal values upheld by UNESCO — peace, tolerance, and respect for cultural diversity.
Culture and heritage hold an important place in our activities. Currently, five sites in Andorra are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and we are preparing a new transnational nomination dedicated to the emergence of the co-principality and its associated tangible monuments. This project unites monuments located in Andorra, as well as in France and Spain, highlighting the centuries-long history of independence and good neighborly relations among our states.
Recently, I had the honor of receiving the first Ambassador of Uzbekistan to our country in Andorra. We noted that, despite common priorities, the level of our cooperation can be significantly strengthened. We agreed to develop partnership, especially in areas such as sustainable tourism and the protection of mountain ecosystems, where Andorra has considerable expertise.
In this regard, Andorra will host in March 2026 the 7th World “Mountain Partnership” Meeting — an international forum dedicated to mountains and sustainable development. We will be sincerely pleased to see Uzbekistan’s participation in this important event and invite it to take the most active part.
