Uzbekistan Wins the Hearts of Spanish Journalists

As part of efforts to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential abroad, a group of Spanish journalists visited the country.
The delegation included journalists from leading Spanish media outlets such as ABC, La Razón, El Español, and the travel magazine Viajar.
During their visit, the journalists travelled to Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, where they explored Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, architectural masterpieces, and modern achievements.
The Spanish journalists emphasized that the trip to Uzbekistan was a true discovery for them. They noted not only the country’s remarkable historical and cultural heritage, but also the convenience of travelling thanks to the direct Madrid–Tashkent flight, which significantly reduces travel time and makes the destination more accessible for Spanish tourists. According to the participants, Uzbekistan impressed them with its blend of ancient architecture, the modern look of its cities, and the hospitality of its people.
It is worth noting that interest from Spanish travelers in Uzbekistan has been steadily increasing in recent years. Today, the country regularly ranks among the top destinations offered by Spain’s leading tour operators.
According to the Tourism Committee, around 20,000 Spanish travelers visited Uzbekistan between January and September 2025 — a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.
The visit of the Spanish journalists not only demonstrated Uzbekistan’s openness and hospitality but also strengthened the foundation for further cooperation in tourism and cultural exchange. Thanks to such initiatives, more people across Europe are discovering Uzbekistan as a country of rich historical heritage, unique culture, and rapid development. The upcoming publications in Spanish media are expected to attract broad public interest and inspire new travelers to visit Uzbekistan — the heart of the Great Silk Road.
