Madrid will host the Uzbek drama "Aydinlar" as part of the Asian cinema program

From October 4 to December 13, 2025, the New Perspectives on Asian Cinema festival is being held at the MK2 Cine Paz theater in Madrid, organized by Casa Asia.
As part of the festival, on November 1, the film Aydinlar by Uzbek director Muzaffarkhon Erkinov will be screened.
The film tells the story of a young man returning to his hometown after studying abroad. The protagonist faces internal and external changes, searching for his place in society and his personal identity. Aydinlar offers a view of contemporary Uzbek youth, their dreams, fears, and aspirations, shown through the lens of returning home after a new life experience.
Alongside the Uzbek film, audiences will see works from China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Mongolia, Malaysia, and Japan.
The festival organizers note that “our goal is to offer a chance to see one or multiple worlds that we would hardly have access to without literature and cinema.”
The participation of Aydinlar in Casa Asia’s international program is an important step for Uzbekistan on the global cinematic map. Screening the film in Madrid not only introduces foreign audiences to contemporary Uzbek cinema but also strengthens cultural ties between countries, highlights the talents of Uzbek directors, and opens new opportunities for international cooperation in art and tourism.
