The 3rd International Handicrafts Festival to be Held in Kokand

The 3rd International Festival of Handicrafts will take place from September 19 to 21 in the city of Kokand, Fergana region.
The festival is organized in accordance with the decrees of the President of Uzbekistan.
It is expected that 278 foreign guests from 70 countries, as well as artisans from all regions of Uzbekistan, will take part in the event.
The program of the festival will include a ceremonial parade of participants, an exhibition-fair of works by local and foreign artisans, a scientific conference, press conferences dedicated to the festival and its outcomes, a fashion show featuring international and Uzbek designers, folklore festivals, puppet and theatrical performances, concerts by regional folklore ensembles and cultural departments, culinary competitions, master classes by local and foreign craftsmen, as well as tours of Kokand’s cultural and entertainment venues and tourist routes.
It should be noted that following the 1st International Handicrafts Festival, the tourist flow to Kokand increased tenfold, the number of artisans grew 3.5 times, and the number of hotels expanded 2.5 times.
By the decision of the World Crafts Council on July 23, 2019, Kokand was awarded the status of “City of Craftsmen in Woodcarving.”
