Uzbekistan and Saint Lucia Establish Diplomatic Relations

A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Saint Lucia was signed in New York.
On behalf of the governments of the two countries, the document was signed by Ulugbek Lapasov, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, and Menissa Rambally, Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to the United Nations.
The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
An agreement was reached to intensify bilateral contacts in order to identify mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The signing of the document marked an important step in enhancing Uzbekistan’s engagement with the countries of the Caribbean region.
Located in the eastern Caribbean Sea, Saint Lucia has become the 163rd country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.
It should be recalled that on July 10, 2025, Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with the African nation of Eritrea.
