Prospects for Promoting Uzbekistan’s Tourism Potential Discussed in Madrid

Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid met with Miguel Ángel González, President of the World Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers (FIJET Spain), and Irina Bohan, Head of the Federation’s International Department.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of travel journalism, experience exchange, and the implementation of joint information projects aimed at promoting Uzbekistan as a unique travel destination to a wide Spanish and international audience.
It was agreed to launch a series of publications and printed materials showcasing the vibrant and diverse image of Uzbekistan — its stunning nature, rich national cuisine, ancient traditions and customs, architectural and historical landmarks, modern infrastructure, and the renowned warmth and hospitality of the Uzbek people.
The Spanish side expressed its readiness to organize a press tour to Uzbekistan involving leading Spanish travel journalists and reporters. The tour would allow media representatives to experience firsthand the country’s tourism potential, visit key attractions, and become acquainted with its cultural life and infrastructure developments.
In addition, FIJET Spain representatives confirmed their intention to widely cover these visits in both print and digital media, including on reputable international travel platforms.
The agreements reached mark the beginning of a practical phase of cooperation, which is expected to make a significant contribution to strengthening Uzbekistan’s image as an attractive travel destination in both the Spanish and global tourism markets.
