Uzbek Ensemble to Represent the Country at an International Festival in Spain

From July 15 to 22, the 44th International Folklore Festival will take place in the autonomous community of Extremadura (Spain), with Uzbekistan represented by the ensemble “Shark Sadolari.”
This important cultural event — a symbol of diversity and friendship among nations — will bring together artistic groups from around the world, including Taiwan, Ireland, Portugal, as well as various regions of Spain.
Over the course of the week, the Uzbek folk ensemble “Shark Sadolari” will perform not only in the regional capital, Badajoz, but also in other towns across the region, including San Vicente de Alcántara, Castuera, Torreorgaz, Fuentes de Cantos, and Valdelacalzada.
The festival will open with a series of events, including concerts, parades, traditional games, and dance workshops. In particular, on July 16, representatives of Uzbekistan will take part in a traditional games event on San Francisco Square in Badajoz. On July 17, “Shark Sadolari” will join all festival participants in a colorful parade through the city streets. On July 18, the ensemble will perform short pieces on the main square ahead of a formal reception at Badajoz City Hall. On July 19, the artists will lead a dance masterclass.
The Extremadura Folklore Festival annually attracts large public audiences and significant media attention. It not only showcases traditional songs and dances, but also serves as a platform for deepening cultural dialogue among countries. This year, around 240 performers representing eight international and national ensembles are expected to participate.
The participation of the Uzbek ensemble in this festival is a vibrant opportunity to present the richness of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage — its unique musical instruments, traditional costumes, and choreographic art. It also strengthens cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Spain, while creating new opportunities for future cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism.
