The President of Uzbekistan notes the wide opportunities for the development of industrial cooperation with Türkiye
The issues of enhancing practical interaction, supporting and promoting cooperation projects, introducing innovations and advanced technologies, as well as other aspects of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were on the agenda of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with a delegation of the Republic of Türkiye led by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, on 12 April.
The Turkish delegation arrived in Uzbekistan on behalf of the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan to demonstrate and hand over the first national electric car under the Togg brand.
The President of Uzbekistan noted with particular satisfaction the current high dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges at all levels.
The steady growth in trade volumes, the joint implementation of several large investment projects in priority sectors, and an increase in the frequency of regular flights between the two countries were cited as an example.
Wide opportunities were noted for developing industrial cooperation by attracting leading Turkish companies to implement projects, including in the automotive industry.
The main attention was paid to the careful preparation of the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council of the highest level, including the formation of a portfolio of promising projects and the adoption of a long-term industrial program.
Following the meeting, a presentation of the Togg electric car took place, during which Minister Mustafa Varank spoke in detail about the technical characteristics of the vehicle and solemnly handed over its keys.
The Leader of Uzbekistan, expressing gratitude, sincerely congratulated the President and the people of Türkiye on a great achievement in mechanical engineering – the launch of the industrial production of an electric vehicle.
