Nearly 35,500 foreign nationals chose Uzbekistan for medical treatment in the first half of 2026

Between January and June 2026, 35,401 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan to receive medical treatment, according to the Dunyo News Agency.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the majority of international patients came from neighboring Central Asian countries. In particular, 19,096 citizens of Tajikistan, 9,552 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and 4,582 citizens of Kazakhstan traveled to Uzbekistan for medical care.

During the first half of the year, medical services in Uzbekistan were also provided to 1,280 citizens of Afghanistan, 772 citizens of Russia, and 119 citizens of other countries.

It is worth noting that more than 86,000 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for medical treatment in 2025.

The statistics reflect the sustained demand for Uzbekistan's healthcare services among international patients and demonstrate the continued growth of the country's inbound medical tourism sector.

According to experts, this positive trend is the result of the ongoing modernization of Uzbekistan's healthcare system, the expansion of a network of modern multidisciplinary and specialized medical centers, the introduction of advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, and continuous improvements in the quality of medical services. The growing number of foreign patients further strengthens Uzbekistan's international reputation as an emerging medical tourism hub in Central Asia, while contributing to the export of medical services and the expansion of humanitarian cooperation with countries across the region.
