German Federal President to Pay an Official Visit to Uzbekistan

At the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accompanied by his spouse, will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on 17–18 June, according to Dunyo News Agency.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the programme of the visit includes talks between the two heads of state in both narrow and expanded formats. The discussions will focus on further deepening the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Germany.

Particular attention will be devoted to expanding practical cooperation in trade, industrial collaboration, energy and green technologies, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals and the chemical industry, agriculture, as well as strengthening educational and humanitarian exchanges.

The two sides will also exchange views on current international and regional issues.

The negotiations are expected to result in the launch of several new joint projects and programmes, as well as the adoption of a package of agreements designed to provide additional momentum for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany.
