Tashkent Region Strengthens Partnerships with Spanish Companies in Textile and Environmental Industries

As part of the visit of the delegation of the Tashkent Region to Spain, led by khokim Zoir Mirzaev, a series of meetings was held aimed at expanding investment and technological cooperation with Spanish companies.
During negotiations with Spanish partners, in which executives of major textile enterprises of the region also participated online, the parties discussed the promotion of Uzbek textile products in European markets, the establishment of direct contacts with Spanish investors and entrepreneurs, as well as the expansion of exports of raw materials and finished products.
Particular attention was given to improving compliance of products with international standards, introducing modern production technologies, exchanging expertise in design and branding, and adapting products to the requirements of European consumers.
The Spanish side expressed strong interest in the activities of the textile clusters of the Tashkent Region, highly appreciated the region’s production potential, and proposed organizing business meetings involving European companies to launch joint projects.
A meeting was also held in Madrid with representatives of Water Challenge, a Spanish company specializing in water resource management and industrial wastewater treatment.
During the discussions, the Uzbek side presented information on the measures being implemented in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Tashkent Region, to ensure efficient use of water resources, introduce water-saving technologies, and improve wastewater treatment systems.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in several areas, including water reuse in the mining and metallurgical industries, the development of environmentally safe “smart” water treatment facilities in the tourist areas of Charvak and Bostanlyk, as well as the implementation of pilot projects for the treatment of collector-drainage water and its reuse in agriculture.
The Spanish company presented its ongoing innovative projects, including a zero-waste pilot water treatment plant in the port of Huelva, as well as environmental solutions being implemented in Slovakia for the mining industry.
Following the meetings, agreements were reached to further explore the potential for introducing Spanish technologies in the conditions of the Tashkent Region, develop practical projects, and establish long-term mechanisms for mutually beneficial cooperation.
It was noted that the implementation of such initiatives would contribute not only to the rational use of water resources and industrial development, but also to strengthening environmental sustainability, promoting the principles of the green economy, and improving the quality of life of the population.
