Tashkent and Madrid strengthen interregional cooperation

Farrukh Tursunov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Guillermo Kirkpatrick de la Vega, Director General for Cooperation with the State and the European Union of the Community of Madrid.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of Uzbek-Spanish relations, as well as the deepening of practical cooperation at both bilateral and regional levels.
The Spanish side was informed about the ongoing socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, measures aimed at improving the investment climate, and the favorable conditions created for foreign partners.
Special attention during the talks was given to the development of interregional cooperation. The high potential of Tashkent Region as a promising partner for practical cooperation, including within the framework of implementing specific investment projects, was highlighted.
The parties also discussed the expansion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Both sides expressed interest in strengthening collaboration in such areas as energy and renewable energy sources, industrial equipment supplies, automotive manufacturing, the pharmaceutical industry, as well as medical and technological sectors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade and economic ties.
