The first interparliamentary cooperation forum “Central Asia – European Union” has started its work in Samarkand

In the ancient city, the first interparliamentary cooperation forum “Central Asia – European Union” began its work today, reports the Dunyo news agency.
According to the information service of the upper chamber of Parliament, this initiative was put forward by the head of state at the “Central Asia – European Union” summit held on April 4, 2025.
Representatives of the parliaments of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, members of the European Parliament, experts, representatives of international organizations, civil society, academia, and business are taking part in the international dialogue.
Within the framework of the forum, important sessions will be held on such pressing issues as the current state of political dialogue and its future prospects, the “green” transformation, economic connectivity, digital security, inclusive governance, and the modern role of parliamentary diplomacy.
