New round of political consultations in Madrid

The eighth round of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Spain was held in Madrid, according to the Dunyo News Agency.
The delegations were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain Diego Martínez Belío.
During the consultations, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of political-diplomatic and interparliamentary cooperation, the enhancement of interaction in trade, economic and investment spheres, as well as the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the active contacts at various levels, the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects in priority industrial sectors.
Particular attention was paid to utilizing the existing potential in the fields of trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, tourism, education and healthcare, as well as labor migration.
The consultations emphasized the importance of holding the planned visits at various levels during the current year and organizing joint events, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, a business forum, and a number of cultural events.
