Uzbekistan will host the “International Water Forum – Tashkent Water Week

On March 25–26, 2026, the capital of Uzbekistan will host the “International Water Forum – Tashkent Water Week,” which will provide a unique opportunity for experience sharing, discussion of innovative approaches, and the development of joint strategies for water resource management, reports the IA “Dunyo” correspondent.
Central Asia is facing a growing shortage of water resources caused by climate change, increasing demand for water supply and irrigation. At the same time, rising water demand to meet population needs and support economic growth is creating additional pressure on the agricultural sector, requiring more rational use of water resources. Under these conditions, effective and sustainable water management becomes a strategic priority, directly influencing the strengthening of regional cooperation and Central Asia’s role in the global water cycle.
“Tashkent Water Week 2026” will bring together government bodies, international organizations, leading scientists, business representatives, and the expert community, providing a platform to discuss transboundary water security challenges, showcase innovative governance and technological solutions, and develop practical strategies for the rational use of water resources. The forum aims to strengthen regional cooperation and promote sustainable water-use models to ensure long-term water and economic development in Central Asia.
In recent years, the countries of the region have hosted international conferences, consultative meetings, and expert dialogues dedicated to the rational use and protection of water resources. In this context, “Tashkent Water Week 2026” is intended to complement and further develop existing cooperation formats by creating a multilateral platform for experience exchange and discussion of modern approaches to water resource management at both regional and global levels.
