Uzbekistan and the EU Launch Negotiations on Simplifying Visa Procedures for Uzbek Citizens

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has conducted the first stage of consultations with experts from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Home Affairs and Migration, reports IA Dunyo.
According to the information provided by the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry, the discussions focused on the possibility of simplifying visa procedures for Uzbek citizens entering the EU for employment, education, truck drivers, and tourist groups.
The European side outlined a set of conditions that need to be fulfilled in order for the issue of simplifying visa procedures for Uzbek citizens to be considered at meetings of the European Commission.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold further consultations of a similar nature to expedite the achievement of the aforementioned objectives.
