President of Uzbekistan to Pay a Working Visit to Turkmenistan on August 4–5

At the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Turkmenistan on August 4–5 for a working visit to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the event will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone and will be attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of state and government from various countries, as well as leaders of international and regional organizations.
The agenda of the Conference includes pressing issues related to strengthening international cooperation in transport connectivity, trade facilitation, economic transformation, climate change resilience, environmental challenges, and progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and a program of action is expected.
During his stay in Turkmenistan, the President of Uzbekistan will also participate in an event focused on preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and will hold a series of bilateral meetings.
