The Ambassador of Uzbekistan presented his credentials to the King of Spain
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Farrukh Tursunov presented his credentials to King Philip VI of Spain.
Farrukh Tursunov assumed his role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Spain on December 7, 2023, succeeding Jakhongir Ganiev, who had led the diplomatic mission in Madrid since 2017.
During their meeting with the King, they discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Spain, along with current international issues.
King Philip VI praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, noting that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country has made significant progress.
It was emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's political views, his deep interest in the well-being of Uzbekistan, and his engagement in Central Asian affairs, particularly concerning neighboring Afghanistan, left a profound impression.
At the end of the conversation, the King of Spain expressed his readiness to contribute to efforts to strengthen and develop Uzbekistan-Spain bilateral relations, aimed at achieving new heights in cooperation.
