A report on the working with youth system presented
On December 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the report on the work carried out this year and priority tasks for next year in youth policy.
Over the past period, measures were implemented in 7 areas. Responsible leaders were assigned 396 thousand young people who need special attention from the state. Through individual work, 331 thousand were assisted in realizing their potential. In particular, 94 thousand people were employed, and 56 thousand were trained in professions.
The number of types of assistance provided through the “youth notebook” has been increased to 30, and the period for reviewing requests for assistance has been reduced from 30 days to 5 days.
This year, on the recommendation of youth leaders, 338 thousand boys and girls were provided with financial assistance for 444 billion UZS. In particular, student contracts were paid, and the costs of teaching foreign languages and modern professions were covered. Unemployed youth are provided with working tools.
A youth employment program has been implemented in each mahalla, resulting in 236 thousand of unemployed young people and 189 thousand school graduates being provided with employment this year.
This year, the “Olympiad of Five Initiatives” began to be held at 4 levels – between districts, schools, vocational education institutions, and universities, in total 12 million young people took part in it. 623 sports grounds were built in the mahallas of the Olympic winners.
The first 24-hour “Creative Park” was launched at the Youth Creativity Palace in Tashkent to support young talents. The game “Zakovat” and other intellectual competitions attracted 2 million young people.
The President was also informed about organizing the international chess school “Tudakul” in Navoi region.
The school has modern infrastructure and can teach 1.7 thousand children and cover 7.5 thousand young people a year with various activities. All conditions have been created here for international competitions, such as the World and Asian Championships and the Universiade.
The Head of state instructed to invite international grandmasters to this school, attract talented children from remote areas, and organize short-term chess camps for them with the issuance of appropriate certificates. It was noted that the school should become a model and methodological basis for teaching chess to all secondary schools in the country. It is necessary to introduce digital solutions while conducting chess lessons.
Priority tasks in working with youth for 2024 were also discussed at the meeting.
Each region, ministry, and agency will introduce a new approach to working with youth. The types of assistance provided on the recommendation of the youth leader will be transformed, and the primary attention will be paid to training youth in modern professions.
It was proposed to create a Children’s Organization of Uzbekistan to develop children’s abilities, interests, and talents and their full support. The need to improve scientific and analytical work on studying youth problems and training promising personnel was noted.
Next year, measures will be taken to increase the number of young people studying foreign languages under the “Ibrat Farzandlari” project to 1 million and the number of young readers under the “Mutolaa” program to 1.5 million. For this purpose, additional infrastructure will be built in the regions. It is planned to create broader conditions for the meaningful organization of leisure time and the realization of the talent and abilities of young people.
