The capabilities of an automated system for ensuring public safety demonstrated
The President of Uzbekistan visited the Unified Operational Control Center of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent.
The center was organized in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional organizational measures to further improve the activities of internal affairs bodies in ensuring public security and combating crime” of April 2, 2021.
The modernly equipped center operates based on the “Geoinformation Electronic Map”, which integrates 55 electronic databases of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Justice, Health, Transport, Emergency Situations, National Guard, Tax Committee, and other agencies, and connects 7.3 thousand video cameras with more than 10 thousand residential and non-residential properties in Tashkent city.
This contributes to the effective management of forces and means of ensuring public safety. In particular, coordination of employees conducting service in public places is carried out in real-time. As a result, arriving at the scene of an incident takes 3-5 minutes.
All this plays a vital role in ensuring the goals of “Safe City”, “Safe Mahalla”, and early detection of offenses. Thus, 925 crimes were solved “without delay” in the capital over the past period.
The information systems “E-manzil”, “Shakl-1”, “E-mehmon”, and “Cadastre” are also connected to the Unified Operational Control Center, and data from surveillance cameras is collected. Young specialists participating in the “One Million Uzbek Coders” project developed the “Qalqon” (“Shield”) system for the center.
The complex ensures close interaction between structures responsible for public safety, data processing within a single platform, and making the right decisions using automatic tools for analyzing and assessing operational and crime situations.
The President gave instructions on the effective use of the system, the implementation of digital solutions in the activities of prevention inspectors, and the adoption of further measures to increase the efficiency of the fight against crime.
