Uzbekistan and Pakistan leaders discuss current issues on the bilateral strategic partnership agenda
As part of the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
Current issues of further deepening bilateral cooperation, primarily in trade, economics, investment, transport, and communications, were discussed.
Active contacts at different levels were noted with satisfaction. The trade turnover and cargo transportation are growing. These figures have increased by 40 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are being implemented in the textile, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other industries. 20 joint ventures have been created.
The importance of the early adoption of the Industrial Cooperation Program for 2024-2025, the elimination of trade barriers, and the creation of favorable conditions for developing business ties were emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the Trans-Afghan Railway Construction Project.
Views were exchanged on issues on the regional agenda.
