On March 18, the Head of state launched the implementation of the New Tashkent project. At today’s presentation, issues regarding the implementation of its first stage were considered.
At this stage, it is planned to build apartment buildings for 60 thousand people, administrative buildings for government agencies, parks, social and economic facilities. A directorate was established to design and coordinate all the activities. The experience of urbanization and construction in foreign megacities has been studied.
The concept of building New Tashkent was developed based on 5 functions: administrative, economic, educational, medical and cultural. Accordingly, the relevant agencies and institutions included in their system will be located in the city.
Information was provided on the action plan for design and construction work. To implement such a huge project, first of all, it is necessary to prepare the infrastructure. It was noted that modern approaches to urbanization, smart technologies will be used. For example, it is planned to build a trigeneration station, which, in addition to generating electricity, will heat buildings in winter and cool them in summer. All electrical, communication networks, gas and water pipes are planned to be laid underground.
The infrastructure, living space and ecology will be balanced in the city. The Green Belt of Tashkent project also starts here. Comfortable conditions will be created for the free movement of pedestrians and cyclists. Underground parking lots, 14 modern tunnels, 7 bridges across the Chirchiq and Qorasuv rivers will be built.
The Head of state noted the need for establishing the principle of “human dignity” in the future city, taking into account the needs of people of all ages, and creating the necessary amenities. Instructions were given on the location of facilities in such a way that it would be convenient for operation and traffic, paying special attention to the creation of green areas.
Proposals for the placement of trade and service facilities under the flyovers of the elevated metro in Tashkent were also considered. In particular, there is free space 4 kilometers long on the section of the line running through the territory of Yashnabad district. Green areas, parking lots, workout areas, trade and service centers can be created here. The experience of the city of Berlin on the use of space under the elevated metro lines has been considered.
The President instructed to divide these plots into lots and offer them for rent to entrepreneurs, create additional amenities for the population, providing for all security measures.
