President of Uzbekistan, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia discuss issues of deepening bilateral cooperation
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
The Speaker of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament cordially congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday and expressed her sincere wishes for good health, prosperity and great success in implementing the strategy of large-scale reforms and transformations in New Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, issues of further developing and deepening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries were considered.
The well-established close and effective inter-parliamentary interaction, which contributes to the consistent strengthening of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, was noted with great satisfaction.
Within the framework of regional interaction, the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and Russia was successfully held in the city of Ashgabat in May this year. In October, Tashkent will host a meeting of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The Leader of Uzbekistan confirmed his support for the development of close and fruitful cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
