A 1000-hectare garden created in Oltiariq
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Oltiariq district, in Fergana region.
The Head of the state has repeatedly noted the need for developing the regions, taking into account their specifics and the skills of the population. The advantage of Oltiariq district is the developed agriculture, and the agricultural skills of residents. In particular, Oltiariq grapes acquired the brand status abroad.
A vineyard and orchard have been planted on the outskirts of the district, on a hilly area of a thousand hectares, to increase production.
The President visited this complex.
In the past, these places were not used. As a result of an innovative approach to the development of agriculture, thousands of hectares have been developed. Wells and reservoirs were dug and drip irrigation was introduced for this. At the same time, equipment and materials of local production were used.
Grape varieties such as “Husayni”, “Kelinbarmoq”, “Rizamat”, and “Kishmish” were planted on 560 hectares. Apple, cherry and apricot seedlings are planted in an intensive garden of 300 hectares.
Watermelons are grown between the rows, depending on market demand – red pepper, bell pepper, cucumbers, herbs, and other melons. This will be an additional source of income for the population, increasing exports.
“Fergana achieves great results in agriculture, people’s worldview is changing, farmers are exporting their products. But yesterday’s result no longer meets today’s requirements. We need to be constantly in search. It was enough to make a little effort to create such a large garden. We still have many internal reserves. These opportunities should be directed to the benefit of our people based on the principle “in the name of human honor and dignity”. An example in this should be the pearl of the valley – Fergana”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
A modern agro-industrial complex will appear here – a refrigerated warehouse with a capacity of 1.5 thousand tons, consumer service points. 6 mini-tractors and 10 trucks will be purchased. The population will be provided with allotments in the garden and vineyards. This will create great opportunities for the Oltiariq people.
The Head of the state talked with farmers and heads of Fergana clusters.
“These gardens and vineyards will be privatized. The more owners, the greater the responsibility, the higher the confidence of buyers, foreign partners in the entrepreneur, the more people will receive income”, the President said.
Over 3,000 unemployed youth and low-income families, including migrant workers who have returned from abroad, will be employed at the complex.
The President had a conversation with workers.
Projects for the development of fruit and vegetable growing and floriculture in Fergana region were presented.
