Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits the Kukdala district in Kashkadarya
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region on April 21.
The Head of the state visited the Kukdala district. The initiative to form this territorial-administrative unit was included in the pre-election program of Shavkat Mirziyoyev. By the decision of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of March 17 this year, the Kukdala district was formed in one part of the Chiroqchi district to create amenities for the population and streamline the process of urbanization.
On the eve of the President's visit, Chiroqchi Cluster LLC sewing enterprises started operating in the new district. Its building is constructed of lightweight structures. The enterprise employs about 500 local women and young people.
The President became familiar with the working process at the enterprise and talked with women.
“As you can see, we take a lot of decisions and organizational measures to support women. The main goal is to make you happy. If we provide a woman with a job, her mood will affect the whole family, she will raise her children well. Today we will offer many plans and opportunities. We strive for the time to come when dreams come true in Uzbekistan”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The company produces 7 million units of ready-made clothing per year. Most of the products are exported under the brand “Samo”. To this end, it is planned to establish cooperation with well-known foreign brands.
The cluster manager was given recommendations on increasing cotton yields and developing new lands.
The city of Yettitom is defined as the administrative center of the Kukdala district. Now it is necessary to develop the infrastructure here. The President got acquainted with the project of detailed planning of the city.
The territory of the district is 171 thousand hectares and consists of 32 mahallas. According to the project, buildings for the district hokimiyat and local agencies, the New Uzbekistan neighborhood, kindergartens and schools, a polyclinic, a park, roadside service facilities, and shopping complexes will be built in the city of Yettitom. 159 kilometers of roads will be repaired, 50 kilometers of drinking water supply networks, and 80 kilometers of power grids will be built.
The President noted the need for building new houses in an energy-efficient way and installing solar panels on the roofs of houses. The task was set to study the possibility of building a 500-1000 megawatt solar power plant and a solar panel manufacturing plant in Kukdala.
A meeting with residents took place. It was noted that before it took 2-3 hours to get to the center of the Chiroqchi district, which caused a lot of difficulties and costs.
“The main purpose of establishing Kukdala district is to create decent living conditions for 182 thousand people living here, raising our work on economic development and provision of employment to a new level”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
For this purpose, a three-year program of integrated socio-economic development of the district will be developed. About 2 trillion UZS will be allocated for the construction of engineering and communication networks and social facilities. This year, 18 projects worth 260 billion UZS will be launched.
